Royce understands what people are facing because he is with parents and their children in schools every week.
Royce grew up in a union household on the Eastside of Detroit, Michigan. He felt a responsibility to serve in his community because of the hardships his working-class family experienced.
Royce used his love for education and speaking to make a difference. He continues his work as an educational consultant lecturing in K-12 schools, universities, and federal agencies.
Royce fights back against the attack on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives.
The tragic killing of George Floyd demonstrated an activism that Royce believes frightened some Republican leaders. Scores of supporters of racial justice took to the streets to make their voices heard. This has led to concerted right-wing efforts to create division by banning books, attacking DEIA, and minimizing Black History. Royce believes that the best way to combat these efforts and to defend democracy is by reelecting President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Royce believes that mentorship is a vital part of community development. He has coached youth track and field since 2007. Royce has helped many young people move closer to their goals.
